Highlights from our Q1 2024 UK M&A Valuation Indices, covering UK M&A transaction multiples for M&A deals completed in January – March 2024

The M&A market, in terms of deal volumes, has continued its reversion to longer term norms following two years of elevated activity in 2021 and 2022.

When comparing deal volumes for Q1 2024 against the comparative period in 2023, volumes were 15% lower.

Our provisional data indicates that multiples have decreased in Q1 2024 compared to the previous quarter.

SECTOR-BASED INDICES

Multiples vary depending on the sector therefore, the disbursement of deals across sectors will influence the aggregate All Cap multiples each quarter.

Most sectors remained relatively flat. Consumer and Healthcare sectors saw an uptick whereas Technology, Media & Telecommunications have continued to fall versus the prior.
